Oklahoma Statewide Afterschool Network

About this grant

This grant will support the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy to coordinate the Oklahoma Statewide Afterschool Network. In addition to continuing the network’s core work to advance afterschool in Oklahoma, it will complete a multiyear project to build an afterschool system of career and college readiness programs to develop students’ workforce skills and expose them to emerging career opportunities, particularly in science, technology, engineering, and math fields. The network seeks to leverage the resources of public and private partners to increase the potential of career success of Oklahoma’s children and strengthen the state’s economic competitiveness. To ensure that new models and best practices are incorporated nationally, the network will share lessons learned and products with the other statewide afterschool networks.
