About this grant
This renewal grant will provide support for the fifth cohort of students participating in the Smart Teachers As Role Models (STAR) Initiative. The program provides leadership development curriculum for students in the teacher education programs at Mott Community College, Baker College, and the University of Michigan-Flint to address the scarcity of African-American male teachers in the elementary and secondary schools of Flint and Genesee County.
