About this grant

Micro-enterprise is vital to the economic development of the greater Flint community. Funding will enable the Center for Empowerment and Economic Development to create a plan for improving and sustaining micro-enterprise service delivery in the Flint area. To this end, the center will assess existing micro-enterprise programs and resources; provide technical assistance to existing programs to maximize their impact; help stakeholders develop a micro-enterprise development plan for Genesee County; examine potential implementation strategies; and identify resources to support the implementation of the micro-enterprise development plan. The center was established in 1984 to assist women, minorities and other low-income individuals with small business development.
