About this grant
The current U.S. tax structure will constrain the country’s ability to move forward on existing priorities or respond to changing circumstances such as economic or international crises. Social and fiscal policy decisions made by Congress over the next decade will depend on the outcome of the imminent debate on how to reform the U.S. tax code.Multiyear funding will enable the New America Foundation to develop and promote alternative proposals for reforming the tax system in ways that preserve and/or generate the revenues necessary to adequately fund current and future social and economic priorities. The New America Foundation, based in Washington, D.C., is a public policy institute created to bring new voices and ideas to the fore of U.S. public discourse by investing in outstanding individuals and ideas that transcend the conventional political spectrum.
