About this grant
The Study Circle Resource Center, a program of the Paul J. Aicher Foundation, created a guide to help communities involve large numbers of people, from all racial and ethnic backgrounds, in conversations aimed at community change. Recent revisions focus a greater level of awareness on the need for dialogue to be accompanied by corresponding opportunities to link that dialogue to strategies for collective action and sustained change. This grant will enable the center to disseminate the "Facing Racism in a Diverse Society" study guide. A marketing brochure and Web-based seminars will be used to explain the guide, which will be available in print and on the center’s Web site. In addition, a small group of communities will be selected to receive more in-depth technical assistance, participate in learning exchanges and share lessons learned with the field.Since its founding in 1982, the Paul J. Aicher Foundation has worked to bring the wisdom of everyday people to bear on the critical social and political issues of our time. Working at the grassroots level, it creates ways to link democratic theory and democratic practices.
