About this grant
A statewide environmental organization, the River Alliance of Wisconsin has a strong presence in the Great Lakes Basin, which covers more than one-third of Wisconsin’s land area and is home to more than half of the state’s population. With prior funding, the alliance worked to strengthen implementation of the Clean Water Act and related policies, developed a revitalization program for the Root River, contributed to the state’s implementation of the Great Lakes Compact, and piloted a citizen’s water quality monitoring program. Renewed support will allow the alliance to build on these efforts and also broaden the scope of its urban rivers efforts, continue major fish passage projects, expand invasive species programs, support watershed groups, and invest in its own organizational development.
