About this grant

Louisiana’s extraordinary freshwater resources are undergoing stress due to coastal wetland loss, surface water pollution and related threats. This grant will enable the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic (TELC) to provide legal and other assistance to community and environmental organizations engaged in implementing the Clean Water Act to protect and restore the state’s freshwater resources. The clinic will focus on reducing water pollution discharges and protecting wetlands through community outreach, policy reform, and the provision of legal and other technical assistance.TELC, a program of the Tulane University Law School, uses a combination of students and professional staff to help community and environmental groups implement the Clean Water Act and related policies. Tulane University was founded in 1834 and has 11 schools and colleges offering undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees.
