About this grant

The program goal is to strengthen community foundations globally. The Global Fund for Community Foundations manages a small grants and capacity building program focusing on community foundations and their support organizations in low- and middle-income countries. Through this program, the grantee has provided grants to 35 community foundations from 24 countries for youth-focused projects, to 13 community foundations from 10 countries for environment-focused projects, and to 12 community foundations from 11 countries for projects addressing critical issues identified by the community foundations themselves. In 2017, the grantee will continue to provide small grants to community foundations for a range of activities, including data collection, research, and local convening. The Global Fund for Community Foundations is a grassroots grantmaker working to promote and support institutions of community philanthropy around the world.
