About this grant
The “Nonprofit Quarterly” was launched as a national journal in late 1999 as a publication of Third Sector New England and, in 2006, spun off into an independent publication. The periodical has developed widespread credibility and a well-respected brand identity among its readers — small- to mid-sized nonprofits, policymakers, and academics — by offering a blend of critical analysis, research, and practitioner wisdom. Since 2008, the “Nonprofit Quarterly” has transitioned from a quarterly print journal with a fairly static Web site to a journal available in print and online flash format with an interactive Web site offering free daily annotated newswires, weekly newsletters and advice columns, and periodic trend alerts. The “Nonprofit Quarterly” has also increased its subscriber base by 32 percent. This grant will enable the “Nonprofit Quarterly” to enhance its sustainability by implementing a new business model, optimizing its use of technology, and expanding collaborative journalism opportunities.
