About this grant
Although the domestic micro-enterprise industry has demonstrated considerable accomplishments, one of its greatest challenges is to serve even more aspiring micro-entrepreneurs.This grant will enable ACCION USA to expand its lending services to more micro-entrepreneurs. Activities will include introducing and testing new financial products that are identified through additional market research as meeting the needs of low-income entrepreneurs; utilizing technology to reach greater numbers of micro-entrepreneurs more efficiently; innovating and streamlining loan underwriting and servicing; developing regional and national strategic partnerships with other lenders and entities to leverage resources; and exploring opportunities for consolidation in the field. In addition, ACCIÓN will disseminate best practices and lessons learned through on site training sessions, publications and workshops. ACCIÓN USA is a private, nonprofit organization that provides credit and business training to low- and moderate-income micro-entrepreneurs.
