About this grant
The National Employment Law Project’s technical assistance initiative continues to provide support to Michigan and Flint to piece together a rapid and effective response to severe job loss and economic dislocation. The initiative promotes a battery of better practices that have proven to be effective in getting workers to participate in retraining and take full advantage of a range of dislocated worker programs. The dislocated worker facilitator office has assisted with a number of rapid response/dislocation events; worked with local community, religious, and nonprofit agencies; and promoted a worker retraining agenda for Genesee County’s dislocated automobile workers. This grant increase will support a statewide conference for community groups, state and local officials, workforce agency leaders, and dislocated workers program operators to review effective state and local policies.
