About this grant
The goals of the International Rivers Network are to protect rivers, assist communities impacted by large dam projects, and encourage the development of alternative technologies for meeting community water and energy needs. To achieve these goals, the network undertakes research, education and advocacy efforts with a global network of local communities, non-governmental organizations and other partners. This grant will support efforts to promote energy and water solutions for sustainable development; prevent destructive infrastructure projects, and where such projects have been undertaken, promote reparations for affected communities and restoration of ecosystems; support networks in Latin America, Asia and Africa to highlight sustainable water and energy alternatives; and increase the network’s visibility by improving public education and outreach efforts.
