About this grant
Wisconsin plays a pivotal role in Great Lakes water policy, as demonstrated recently by the state’s consideration of the Great Lakes Compact. Over the past two years with partial Mott support, Midwest Environmental Advocates, a statewide environmental law and policy group, has worked with partners and other stakeholders to implement the compact, improve the state’s groundwater withdrawal policies, and promote water conservation measures. With renewal support, the organization will continue its efforts in these areas of water management policy reform by participating in key stakeholder committees, educating decisionmakers and the public, and helping coordinate the efforts of the environmental community as a whole.
