About this grant
The state of Wisconsin will be instrumental in the implementation of the Great Lakes Compact, a proposed interstate agreement governing water withdrawals and diversions in the U.S. portion of the Great Lakes basin. Wisconsin officials also are discussing ways to improve other water conservation and groundwater protection policies. This grant will enable the Midwest Environmental Advocates (MEA) to engage in these three interrelated policy processes by participating in key stakeholder committees; educating decisionmakers and the public; and helping coordinate the efforts of the environmental community as a whole.MEA, a statewide environmental organization, provides legal and technical assistance to community groups and other environmental interests working for clean water and clean air in Wisconsin.
