About this grant

The program goal is to promote greater public participation in decisionmaking processes in Montenegro. To strengthen the role and capacities of the domestic nonprofit sector, the Center for Development of Non-Governmental Organizations will work through a series of mutually reinforcing program areas, including increasing citizen engagement in public policy development; providing training and consultations to nonprofit organizations and government representatives; promoting philanthropy; and publishing a monthly magazine and other resource materials. During the grant period, particular emphasis will be given to increasing the organization’s ability to provide services on a fee basis, training staff and increasing financial transparency of the organization. The grantee is a leading nonprofit organization in Montenegro, based in the capital, Podgorica.
