About this grant
The Seventh Generation Fund addresses six issue areas: arts and cultural expression; environmental health and justice; alliance-building between the Native American people of North America and South America; youth leadership development; protection of sacred places; and economic self-reliance and sustainability. The fund, which had participated in Mott’s Intermediary Support for Organizing Communities program since 1990, received its final grant for that purpose in 2005. Since its establishment in 1977, the fund’s primary goal has been to rebuild indigenous communities and renew Native America through community healing, appropriate technologies, traditional living and small-scale development.
