Developing Private Giving in Ukraine

About this grant

This grant will enable the Center for Philanthropy to expand individual giving in Ukraine by launching a public awareness campaign targeted at changing people’s attitudes toward philanthropy; improving the capacity of Ukrainian nonprofit organizations to solicit donations from individuals through an education program on appropriate fundraising techniques; and informing Ukrainian nonprofits, the government and the public about the percentage philanthropy concept – whereby taxpayers can designate a certain percentage of their annual income tax to be paid to a charitable organization.The center was founded in 1997 to provide informational and analytical resources to the nonprofit sector. Its mission is to develop a culture of philanthropy in Ukraine by encouraging citizen participation and independent social action.
