About this grant

Demos believes that current public views and discourse about government not only present a real danger for our democracy but also undermine society’s ability to address current and future challenges and pursue emerging opportunities. To address this dynamic, Demos established the Public Works Program to foster a general recognition of the essential role of government in achieving the common good. The organization conducted extensive communications research in order to identify ways to communicate more effectively about the public sector and its purpose. This grant will enable Demos to complete its research and, more importantly, support extensive public education, training, and outreach efforts using the research findings. Founded in 2000, Demos is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to building a society where America can achieve its highest democratic ideals.
