About this grant
This grant increase will enable the University of California – Irvine to carry out further research based on the Mott-funded Study of Promising After-School Programs to include the collection of data from an estimated 1,000 student participants in the Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development. Longitudinal data from kindergarten through high school will be collected to examine the long-term impact of afterschool on cognitive, psychosocial, and behavioral outcomes on participants. This unprecedented study will complement the grant’s original projects that consist of a series of studies focused on understanding the specific features and practices of the programs that facilitate positive participant outcomes.
