About this grant
This grant will enable the Rural Workshop Foundation to provide a range of technical assistance and information services and programs to promote sustainable rural development in Hungary and Central/Eastern Europe. Assistance will include training and capacity building; mediation, facilitation and convening activities; a microgrant program for rural areas; and partnering with European and North American agencies to link local Hungarian efforts to regional and international programs on rural development. The organization was created in 1996 by a group of Hungarian experts, academics and practitioners involved in rural and regional development. Its mission is to stimulate horizontal multistakeholder cooperation at national and international levels between local and rural development initiatives, international networks, think tanks, businesses, and foundations interested in rural development.
