About this grant
Volunteer and Service Enquiry Southern Africa focuses on developing knowledge and profiling and linking community service and volunteering programs through research, capacity building and the support of an information network throughout South Africa and the southern African region. Presently, it is engaged in a five-country study that focuses on civic service and volunteering in Botswana, South Africa, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Part of the study involves building the capacity of local researchers to be able to document the size, nature and scope of volunteering programs and policies in their respective countries. This grant will enable all local researchers to attend a two-day training and capacity-building workshop in South Africa.
