About this grant
Located a few blocks north of downtown Flint, the Hurley Medical Center provides clinical excellence through regional services that offer the highest level of care available in mid-Michigan. As a major institutional presence, the center has the potential to be a catalyst for the development of a vibrant, mixed-use, urban area in central Flint. This grant will provide partial support to the Hurley Foundation to create and implement the Neighborhood Redevelopment and Greenbelt Project. The project is a component of the center’s Master Facility and Land Use Development Plan for the hospital’s main campus and surrounding properties. The Hurley Foundation was created in 1993 to facilitate charitable fundraising for the medical center. Its goal is to foster Hurley’s leadership role in addressing issues that affect the well-being of mid-Michigan residents.
