About this grant

This grant increase will enable the National Youth Employment Coalition to extend its work on identifying and developing policies and practices that support education options for students who have dropped out or are at risk of dropping out of school. Through this project, the National Youth Employment Coalition has worked with states and local communities to link their education reform efforts with strategies that integrate the needs of out-of-school youth. With this grant increase, the National Youth Employment Coalition will build on its state-level work by adding the state of Michigan as one of its profiled sites in the project. This increase will also provide an opportunity for select staff at the National Youth Employment Coalition to participate in a series of trainings to enhance their communications capacity in supporting the expansion of alternative education pathways for dropouts and near dropouts.
