About this grant

This grant will enable the National Youth Employment Coalition to continue to help build the capacity of systems and organizations to serve disconnected youth. In 2014, the grantee will celebrate its 35th anniversary. The grantee has been one of the few youth-centered organizations working in the intersection of policy and practice to expand education options for disconnected youth. Through peer-to-peer learning exchanges, convenings, policy forums, and technical assistance, the grantee has worked to improve the coordination of activities among national stakeholders in the areas of education, employment, and training on behalf of disconnected youth. Recommended support will enable the grantee to build the evidence base for expanding quality practice to serve disconnected youth and inform national policy discussions at the state and federal levels.
