About this grant

This grant will enable the National Youth Employment Coalition to work with states, local communities, education systems and leading policy groups to develop viable options and alternative pathways to a diploma for dropouts and potential dropouts. Through this project, the coalition will help strengthen the linkages between local and state reform efforts that integrate strategies for out-of-school youth and support the expansion of alternative education pathways. The coalition is a broad-based membership organization dedicated to promoting employment, education and training opportunities for traditionally underserved youth. During the past few years, it has worked to expand its education efforts by linking them to broader reform measures that focus on raising standards, increasing graduation rates and integrating strategies for out-of-school youth within current reform efforts.
