About this grant
This grant to Specialized Employment Services, Inc., will support the Flint STRIVE Academy Youth Empowerment Program for at-risk youth ages 14-18. The program provides young people with a summertime employment experience and follow-up support services during the school year. Through attitudinal training, skill enhancement, mentoring, and tutoring, the goal is to encourage youth to complete high school and help with making informed career decisions. As part of their experience, students will participate in a one-week service project distributing bottled water to Flint residents.
