About this grant
The Environmental Support Center was created in 1990 by state and national leaders from the environmental and funding communities out of concern about the ability of community-based groups to sustain their effectiveness over time. Over the next two years with Mott support, the center proposes to regrant funds and offer related organizational capacity-building assistance to approximately 20-30 groups in the Southeast and Great Lakes region engaged in the conservation of freshwater resources. In addition to matching organizations with consultants and training opportunities in the areas of communications, fundraising, strategic planning, and community outreach, the center will provide numerous opportunities for peer exchange and support.
