About this grant
Heart of the Lakes Center for Land Conservation Policy is Michigan’s only institution whose mission is to serve and support land conservancies in the Great Lakes state. With previous support, the grantee helped its members—34 land conservancies—preserve hundreds of thousands of acres of forests, coastlines, and farmlands. As of December 2017, 648,456 acres have been protected. With renewed support for its general operations, the grantee will continue and expand efforts to advance conservation priorities in Michigan, including identifying additional sources of funding for protection of land and water resources.
