About this grant
This grant to the Flint Cultural Center Corporation will support a planning process and facility assessment for the Sloan Museum. Sloan has not had any major renovations since its construction in 1966. In addition, the operations of Sloan are spread among multiple buildings. A committee has been formed with representatives from the cultural center, the education community, and other key stakeholders to develop a vision for the future direction of Sloan and work with museum and exhibition consultants to determine the facility needs of Sloan to best serve the community. The consultants will help define the spatial needs of Sloan and develop multiple design alternatives, including how changes could be incorporated into the existing facilities, as well as how it might look in a new facility. Cost estimates will be developed for the most promising alternative designs.
