About this grant

This grant will continue to support the National Council of La Raza in advancing their Network of Affiliate Afterschool Providers to address the needs and challenges of Latino children in afterschool programs. Specifically, the grantee will: 1) develop core qualities for successful expanded learning opportunities and a database to collect program data; and 2) support capacity building for affiliates around program development and advocacy. The core qualities for successful expanded learning opportunities, and the use of the database system will strengthen the grantee’s professional development, technical assistance, and other support services. It will also make available concrete data to promote the importance of expanded learning opportunities programs that can in turn support the advancement of public policies benefitting programs serving Latino and English language students.
