About this grant
This grant will enable the National Council of La Raza to examine the access issues of Latino families as they relate to afterschool. This will help the afterschool field respond appropriately to the needs of this population. Project goals include gaining a greater understanding of the afterschool work being conducted by Latino-serving community organizations; developing recommendations for effective afterschool programs; and documenting successful methods of increasing afterschool participation for Latino families.The council works to advance the economic, social and political participation of Latinos in the U.S. through training, organizing and service.
