Utah Statewide Afterschool Network

About this grant

This grant will provide continued support to Utah Afterschool Network. The network seeks to advance student achievement by establishing common indicators of student success, and establishing new policies and procedures for sharing student data among schools and afterschool programs. In addition to continuing the network’s core work to advance afterschool in Utah, it will complete a multiyear project to: 1) establish a policy agenda focused on increasing student data sharing between schools and afterschool programs; 2) select pilot sites to test a data sharing model that focuses on common indicators of student achievement and program quality, and provides actionable data; 3) administer a statewide survey to afterschool programs to gather information on methods of data collection, sharing, and usage; and 4) develop a strategic communications strategy to promote the connection between data sharing, program quality, and improved student outcomes.
