About this grant
This general purposes grant will focus on strengthening the Center for Socio-Environmental Support’s administrative, operational, and resource mobilization capacity over the next two years. The Center for Socio-Environmental Support is a Brazilian grantmaking and capacity building organization founded by a group of non-governmental organizations. Its mission is to provide both technical and financial support for the work of community organizations and non-governmental organizations throughout Brazil and neighboring countries. It supports organizations that monitor environmentally damaging projects in their communities; develop strategies to expand sustainable development options for local communities, particularly new energy alternatives; and work to reform policies and practices of international financial institutions. Over the next two years, the grantee will solidify its grantmaking, advisory, and operational structures; establish proper administrative and accountability mechanisms; and mobilize local financial and technical resources from Brazil and other neighboring countries for regranting and capacity building.
