About this grant

The Midwest Community Foundations’ Ventures is a supporting organization of the Council of Michigan Foundations. Having renamed itself from the Michigan Community Foundations’ Ventures and expanded its geographical scope to include Illinois, Ohio, and potentially Indiana, the grantee develops and manages collaborative initiatives that deliver continued innovation in the community foundation field. These include: (1) community-building initiatives (retaining local and regional wealth for philanthropy, strengthening the community foundation role of civic engagement, and promoting sustainable development through better land use); (2) resource-building programs (sharing best practices for marketing and development, facilitating regional marketing, and supporting and leveraging national standards); and (3) capacity-building tactics (advancing board development, expanding technical assistance, and building sustainable infrastructure for regional associations).
