About this grant
For several years, local community organizations affiliated with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) and PICO National Network have had increasingly good relationships. Although the networks have different histories and organizing approaches, local groups have worked in the same cities and regions on similar issues that are critical to working families. This grant will enable ACORN Institute to strengthen the capacity of these two community organizing networks through joint planning and training in the field of communications, and building the communications infrastructure within each of the networks. The mission of the ACORN Institute, founded in 2001, is to provide leadership development and training to help low- and moderate-income people improve their communities.
