About this grant
The program goal is to strengthen civil society influence on national policies and practices regarding local development in Bulgaria. Established in 1995, the Foundation for Local Government Reform is a leading Bulgarian nongovernmental organization working effectively on improving the performance of local governments and broadening public understanding of the problems and importance of local development in Bulgaria. During the grant period, the foundation will focus on increasing its organizational capacity and diversifying its funding base. Project activities include organizing staff training and professional development in the areas of local development, strategic planning, and European Union policies and funding mechanisms. Also, the foundation will develop new research, training, and consultancy services and will market these services to relevant public institutions, international organizations, and nongovernmental organizations.
