About this grant
The program goal is to improve the quality of life in Romanian communities through promoting and developing individual giving, corporate giving, and volunteering. To this end, United Way Romania will expand its donor support base, increase the effectiveness of its fundraising, improve the quality and impact of the projects it supports, and strengthen its advocacy and communication strategies. Established in 2004, the grantee runs workplace giving campaigns, where funds raised from individual workers are matched by their companies. These funds are distributed to nonprofit organizations promoting social development and providing social services in the areas where the grantee’s offices are located. In 2015-2016, the grantee raised over $2 million, which it distributed in small grants in the areas of children’s health, education, and youth employment. The grantee is based in Bucharest, Romania.
