About this grant
The Ohio Environmental Council leads statewide efforts to protect and restore Lake Erie and its tributaries by providing information and technical assistance to citizens, nonprofits, and decisionmakers. With prior Mott support, the council provided members, partners, and policymakers with expertise on implementing the Clean Water Act and related policies; capacity building assistance for nonprofits; and policy, legal, and scientific information on issues related to Lake Erie pollution and water withdrawals. With this renewal, the council will continue these efforts while also seeking strong implementation of the Great Lakes Compact, informing stormwater management policies and regulations, engaging in statewide and regional efforts to prevent invasive species, and investing in its own organizational capacity.
