About this grant
The South African Institute for Advancement, also known as Inyathelo, was established to promote a culture of philanthropy and develop a strong and stable civil society sector in South Africa. While working with organizations to develop their ability and attract support, the grantee promotes social responsibility, personal philanthropy, volunteerism, and self-reliance. Mott has provided general purpose support to the grantee to implement various activities including training on fundraising and capacity development, providing resources and information for nonprofits, promoting corporate and individual social giving through dialogues, hosting the philanthropy awards, and convening the Private Philanthropy Circle, a network of local foundations and trusts aimed at sharing grantmaking experiences. This general purpose grant increase will support costs associated with the Private Philanthropy Circle.
