About this grant
This grant will enable the Boston Private Industry Council to continue to convene and support a citywide partnership aimed at addressing and raising the visibility of the dropout crisis. Through this project, the grantee has been instrumental in advancing a graduation and dropout agenda by convening the Boston Public Schools and 30 youth-serving agencies to develop programmatic interventions and districtwide efforts that improve outcomes for dropouts. Since embarking on this effort, the four-year graduation rate has increased 5.5 percentage points, and the dropout count has decreased by 40 percent. During the final phase of this effort, the grantee will inform local and state policy discussions and support new pilot practices in the area of dropout prevention/recovery.
