About this grant
This grant will provide support to the Attorneys General Oversight and Regulation of Charitable Organizations project of the National State Attorneys General Program at Columbia Law School at Columbia University in the City of New York. The goal of the project is to foster a comprehensive approach by state attorneys general to protecting charitable assets and ensuring their lawful, highest, and best use in the public interest. It will foster the development of best practices around guidelines and regulatory tools for attorneys general, educate them and other stakeholders about these best practices, facilitate communication between attorneys general and the regulated communities, and promote the presence of attorneys general in the national discourse about these issues. The project also will be poised to recommend and assist the implementation of joint strategies, such as coordinated responses to national legislation, regulations, and government agencies.
