About this grant
The program goal is to strengthen the community foundation field in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia — commonly referred to as the Visegrad countries. To this end, the Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland will provide tailor-made grantmaking and technical assistance programs, facilitate networking, and provide learning opportunities to community foundations in the Visegrad countries. In addition, the grantee will strengthen the Visegrad networks and associations of community foundations. Since its establishment in 1998, the grantee has supported the development of over 20 community foundations in Poland and gained a reputation as one of the leading philanthropy development organizations in Central and Eastern Europe. During the past grant period, the grantee carried out a thorough needs assessment of 44 community foundations, provided grants and technical assistance to 37 of them, organized the first community foundation conference in the Visegrad countries, and developed a wide variety of Web-based learning resources for community foundations.
