About this grant

The primary program goal is to strengthen the community foundation field in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia — commonly referred to as the Visegrad countries. The Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland will provide tailor-made grantmaking and technical assistance programs, facilitate networking, and provide learning opportunities to community foundations in the Visegrad countries. In addition, the grantee will strengthen the Visegrad networks and associations of community foundations. Building on the success of program activities over the past eight years, with this grant increase, the grantee will explore opportunities for raising additional resources to expand the geographical scope of the program beyond the Visegrad countries and provide grant support to the community foundation field in the wider Central and Eastern Europe and Russia regions. During the past grant period, the grantee provided grants and technical assistance to more than 40 community foundations, organized exchange visits and group meetings, and developed a wide variety of Web-based learning resources for community foundations. The grantee is based in Warsaw, Poland.
