About this grant
The program goal is to empower Romanian citizens and communities to exercise their rights and responsibilities. The mission of the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux in Romania is to support the development of civil society through informing and engaging citizens. During the grant period, the association will improve its services, strengthen its sustainability, raise the profile of citizen counseling, and advocate for improvements in government policies regarding access to information on citizens’ rights and responsibilities in Romania. The association was established in 2002 and currently has 49 members. In the past two years, the association provided capacity-building programs to its members; strengthened its communication and fundraising strategies; and published a series of studies, including research on labor rights of Romanian migrant workers within the European Union after Romania joined it in 2007.
