About this grant

This grant will provide partial support for Future Bound: Preparing the Next Generation for a World of Change. The Center for Strategic and International Studies, together with the American Association of State Colleges and Universities and the New York Times, has launched a major effort to educate students in colleges and universities in the United States to be globally competent and engaged citizens. This unique partnership presents a remarkable opportunity to contribute to the thinking of a vital cross-section of 3.7 million students at 430 public colleges and universities. The project’s structure is based on the "Seven Revolutions" research–the internationally recognized program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies that assesses seven "revolutionary" drivers of change out to the year 2025 and beyond. Grant funds will support faculty development workshops, publication of edited monographs based on the "Seven Revolutions" framework, stipends for intern-scholars, and additional research and project support. Founded in 1962, the Center for Strategic and International Studies is the only institution of its kind that maintains resident experts on all the world’s major geographical regions, in addition to key functional areas such as international finance, the emerging markets, United States foreign policy, and national security issues.
