About this grant
This grant will support the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation to produce the International Journal of Transitional Justice in partnership with the Human Rights Centre at the University of California, Berkley. The journal will be published by Oxford University Press and will carry refereed articles in the field of transitional justice, a rapidly evolving area of study focusing on the strategies, policies, and legislative frameworks employed by international institutions, states, and civil society bodies to deal with the legacy of human rights abuses and to effect political and social reconstruction in the aftermath of endemic civil conflicts. It will bring researchers and practitioners together from a wide range of disciplines and from various parts of the world to share information and knowledge to deepen the understanding of the issues related to transitional justice and to record best practices. The journal will publish scholarly articles, promote research, carry book reviews, encourage debate and discussion, and organize seminars on all the issues relevant to the field of transitional justice.
