About this grant
This grant will support the Genesee Early College. Genesee Early College program, an innovative, educational program administered by the Genesee Intermediate School District in collaboration with the University of Michigan-Flint and six healthcare partners in the region. The focus of the project is to prepare high school students for academic and professional careers in health and the science, technology, engineering, and math fields. Students can earn up to 60 transferrable college credits as well as a high school diploma. Faculty will encourage students to enroll in Environmental Justice, a course that focuses on the Flint water crisis and provides youth with a platform to share their thoughts about the crisis on campus and in the community.
