Next Generation of Accountability for Out-of-School Education

About this grant

This grant will provide continued support to Education Sector in its efforts to identify and analyze accountability-related innovations currently being used in afterschool and nontraditional educational settings. This phase of the work will break down many of the barriers to an integrated accountability system, help establish a common language among stakeholders on opposing sides of the debate, explore the use of technology to enable a more seamless integration of learning opportunities, and engage opposing sides to determine shared goals and identify specific accountability strategies that will lead to the best student outcomes. The goal of this effort is to overcome the conceptual and political obstacles to make progress toward a broader accountability system that accounts for and creates greater integration among schools, youth development programs, and other social service providers.
