About this grant

This grant will provide continued support to Education Sector in its efforts to examine a variety of approaches to integrating school-based learning with out-of-school time resources and supports, and analyze the governance, finance, and staffing challenges inherent in connecting schools with community partners. Specifically, this project will: 1) produce a policy research report on staffing for in-and out-of-school learning; 2) conduct an exploratory project to understand the role of community support/resistance in district turnaround decisions; and 3) engage in a targeted effort to share current policy recommendations on shared accountability, assessment, data integration, and expanded learning opportunities. This work will result in lessons and recommendations for states, cities, and communities around the country that are working to strengthen their capacity to improve outcomes for their neediest children.
