About this grant

The program goal is to ensure free, fair, and open parliamentary elections in Ukraine through support to public monitoring and observer efforts. The Eurasia Foundation will provide financial and training support to local partner organizations in four central regions of Ukraine with documented histories of problematic elections. The partner organizations will conduct short-term monitoring of election campaigns and procedures; train and oversee election-day observers; hold regular press conferences to publicize monitoring and observation results; and build their own internal capacities to continue with monitoring of elections and related processes. Established in 1993, the Eurasia Foundation has extensive experience in grantmaking and technical support to indigenous organizations throughout the former Soviet Union, promoting democratic development and economic transformation.
